- Our Eye bank is a permanent member of EYE BANK ASSOCIATION OF INDIA
- 147 Enucleations have been performed till date.
- Till date 293 eyeballs have been collected
- 50 keratoplasties (transplantation of cornea to corneal blind patients) have been performed till now
- Keratoplaty can be performed for Corneal Blind person (Blindness due to disease of cornea)
- Trained Ophthalmologists perform enucleation and keratoplasty
- Eyeballs which are not used for keratoplasty are used for Research and Training purpose.
- EYE DONATION FORTNIGHT is celebrated from 25th August to 8th September every year for awareness about eye donation.
- Awareness of EYE DONATION is also done by taking lectures in College and through media like Newspaper, Radio, eye donation rallies.
- Contraindications for eye donation are:
- Patients who are HIV positive, Hepatitis B positive, Covid-19 Positive.
- Patients with Malignancies, Septicemia at the time of death.
