Dr. Ajit Khune (MS Ophthalmology)
Ophthalmology department aims to impart knowledge, skills and attitude in students essential to make them competent ophthalmologists (PGs), sensitive to their community ophthalmic responsibilities (UGs).
Department nurtures undergraduate and postgraduate students with knowledge by means of didactic lectures, practicals, case discussions, e-resources, self-directed learning and hands on surgical training programs.
Department promotes research activities among students and teachers.
The department provides comprehensive OPD/IPD services, specialized clinics, and modern diagnostics, including OCT, fundus fluorescein angiography, perimetry, and tonometry. Fully equipped theaters support advanced microsurgery, such as phacoemulsification, vitrectomy, and keratoplasty, featuring teaching aids.
Additionally, the certified eye bank team performs corneal harvesting, and the department conducts ROP screening for NICU babies.
